Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.20%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.20%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 1.08% or 0.03 points to trade at 2.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) added 0.54% or 0.04 points to end at 7.50 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) was up 0.53% or 0.01 points to 0.94 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which fell 0.90% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.42 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) declined 0.87% or 0.03 points to end at 3.43 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) was down 0.86% or 0.03 points to 3.46.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) fell to 52-week lows; losing 0.87% or 0.03 to 3.43.

Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.55% or 0.40 to $72.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $68.70 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 19.79 to trade at $2,684.59 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 106.03.
